A Family Rooted in Christ, Growing in Grace, and Living in Love

Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What kind of church is Eden?

Eden is a large, vibrant community of Christians that also understands the need for  personal relationships with Christ.  Eden has always been a church that focuses on community outreach, and is continually reaching out to both the local community and the world.  It also offers a wide range of groups for children, women, and men, providing many opportunities for Christian growth and fellowship.  Eden is a church that nearly 2,000 people call home.

2.  What should I wear?

Wear whatever you are comfortable wearing.  Contemporary services have a definite casual atmosphere and attire, but all people and attires are welcome at any of our services.

3.  Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way when I visit?

No.  You will not be put on the spot, singled out, or embarrassed at all.

4.  What about my kids - do they come in with me, or is there something going on for them?

Either.  Your children can stay with you during the service if you like, or during the 9:15am service, there are terrific activities for kids from birth to high school.  We have a nursery for infants and toddlers as well as fun and educational classes (Sunday School) for kids from kindergarten through high school.

5.  How do the Traditional and Contemporary services differ?

Traditional Worship -- Respectfully responding to God -- In Word and Hymn we hear several scripture passages, join in responsive and unison reading, share a creed together, hear an uplifting sermon and, about once a month, celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion.  Our Chancel Choir, Pastors, and acolytes wear robes while we sing traditional hymns of the faith.  Our organist leads congregational singing from our superb organ and accompanies special music from the beautiful baby grand piano.  With respect for tradition and openness to change, we are A Family Rooted in Christ, Growing in Grace, and Living in Love.  Join us.

Contemporary Worship -- Upbeat, uplifting, and spiritual -- We want you to feel better when you leave than when you came.  Most of our hundreds of new members in the last few years say that the music at the contemporary worship service is what first sparked their interest.  The music is not the same style every week but is within the contemporary Christian genre.  About once a month, we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion, and we celebrate the sacrament of baptism even more often than that.  Come join us for 45 minutes of excellent music and an uplifting message from God's word!

6.  How do I become a member?

Joining is simple.  Membership classes are held several times a year (see New Member Classes).  You can transfer from another congregation or by affirmation of faith.
