Emmaus Homes is a private, not-for-profit organization related to the United Church of Christ's Council for Health and Human Service Ministries. With campuses in St. Charles and Marthasville, Emmaus was founded in 1893 by the Evangelical Synod as a home for individuals with developmental disabilities. Arising in faith in Jesus Christ, the mission of Emmaus Homes is to enhance the quality of life for all adults of all beliefs who have cognitive, intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Their vision is to be an outstanding provider of a care continuum, within nurturing communities.
