What we're singing...

8:00AM Sunday Worship

Today it's quite difficult to find a church that preserves the time-tested worship practices of the past few centuries.  Guitars, pianos and drum sets seem to be taking prominence in the broad spectrum of worship styles today.  Eden church is fortunate enough to still have a worship service that preserves traditional hymnody and liturgy.  At the traditional service you can expect to hear:

  • Magnificent Organ Music
  • Choral Anthems
  • Handbells
  • Brass music
  • String music

And you can expect to participate in:

  • SATB singing from the hymnal
  • Responsive Readings
  • Corporate Prayer
  • Reciting the Apostles Creed
  • Giving
  • Communion

Our main resource for congregational singing in the 8:00AM service is a new hymnbook entitled Worship and Rejoice by Hope Publishing.  The following a description of the hymnbook from their website.

"WORSHIP & REJOICE is Hope's most up-to-date hymnal available.  This extensive collection of 749 titles contains all the essential traditional hymns, plus over 100 of the top contemporary worship songs.  With the diverse needs of today's church in mind, the editors have included the best new hymns from today's hymn writers, multicultural and global songs, spirituals, ecumenical songs and Taize titles.  The broad scope of WORSHIP & REJOICE makes it the richest resource available for blending different styles of music together in one service."

9:15 & 10:30AM Sunday Worship

Eden's contemporary worship services are on the cutting edge of new worship songs and styles.  Eden church is committed to presenting the gospel to contemporary culture in a language that they will understand without compromising truth.  Instead of using a hymnbook, the lyrics for the songs are projected onto a screen in front of the congregation.  At these services you can expect to hear:

  • Familiar contemporary worship songs sung for the past few decades
  • Brand new worship songs composed in recent months or years
  • Contemporary Christian music as heard on radio stations like "JOY FM"
  • Older hymn tunes set to contemporary instrumentation
  • scripture readings interspersed with music that tell the gospel story

And you can expect to participate in:

  • Singing
  • Other expressions of worship - clapping, lifting of hands, ect.
  • Reading scripture together
  • Giving
  • The Lord's Supper (first Sunday of the month)
